Committee plans Casper meeting

The state's Management Council will meet at noon on Oct. 27 at Oil & Gas Commission Building, 2211 King Blvd., in Casper, according to a release.

Among the items the group's agenda are: state travel authorization, the Hathaway Fund and school finance litigation.

Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations for the meeting are asked to contact the Legislative Service Office for assistance.

Library hosts seminar on workers

The Natrona County Public Library will host a seminar entitled "Retaining the Older Worker" at 7 p.m. on Monday in the library's Crawford room, according to a release. The Department of Workforce Services will present the seminar.

Employers can prepare themselves for an aging work force by learning about the specific needs, expectations and experience factors related to employing older workers.

Aquatic Center hosts toddlers

The Casper Family Aquatic Center will host Toddler Time from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 25 for toddlers and their parents, according to a release.

The special swim is for children age 5 and under and their parents; no older siblings allowed. Special swim price is $1.50 per adult, kids swim free. Adults are required to accompany their children in the water.

BLM plans prescribed burns

The Bureau of Land Management's Casper Field Office plans to conduct several prescribed burns in Natrona, Converse, and Platte counties when favorable weather and fuel conditions exist, according to a release. BLM may initiate the burns as soon as this month and continue through the spring as conditions permit.

Areas include Muddy Mountain and Bathtub Springs in Natrona County; Esterbrook in Converse County; and Cedar Draw/JY Ranch in Platte County.

All prescribed burn projects will be conducted in accordance with approved burn plans when favorable weather, smoke, and fuel conditions permit.
