It's the final farmers market of the season in Casper, and the north Casper community takes advantage of glorious early fall weather to hold its annual cleanup day.
Beginning at 7:30 a.m.,at the Agricultural Resource Learning Center, 2011 Fairgrounds Rd., is the final farmers market of the season, sponsored by the Natrona County Master Gardeners.
Grab a sweatshirt and enjoy the crisp morning while you browse for the freshest produce and other goodies.
North Casper Community Trash Day goes from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents are encouraged to bring junk to the parking lot at Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church (900 St. John) where Waste Connections will provide roll-off Dumpsters. Bag grass/small items and cut branches into 5-foot lengths. No refrigerators/freezers or rimmed tires can be accepted, only standard vehicle tires. This is a free community event to urge residents to clean yards and houses of unwanted items and help their neighbors.
The Kelly Walsh High School cheerleading squad is hosting a camp from 9 to 11:30 a.m., at the school's main gym. Boys and girls ages 3 to 12 are welcome. Cost is $20 and participants will receive a morning of instruction, a pair of pom pons to keep, and have the privilege of cheering with the KW squad at its Homecoming game against Laramie on Oct. 9.
The Central Wyoming Council of the Boy Scouts of America will kick off a yearlong series of activities celebrating the 100tth anniversary of the BSA.
A team from the BSA that has been traveling the country in a 36-foot motor home covered with a mural showing 100 years of Scouting will visit Casper. The team plans to make a presentation at 8 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at Seventh and Missouri streets.
The Central Wyoming Council is planning a variety of events to mark the anniversary in the next year. The council covers central and northern Wyoming.
The Casper Children's Theatre holds a garage sale fund-raiser in the lobby of the theatre (138 S. Kimball, Commissary Mall) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Youth from the Casper Children's Theatre Acting in the Afternoon class will be holding the garage sale to raise funds to attend the International Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Ga.
The Casper Snow Gypsies Snowmobile Club is planning its annual woodcutting and cleaning the shelters at 9 a.m., sharp at Casper Mountain Beartrap Meadow Parking Lot. Take gloves, chain saws, brooms, garbage bags, water, snacks, etc. After the work is done, join everyone for a barbecue (place to be announced after work is done).
The nonprofit Casper Planetarium, 904 N. Poplar, hosts "Astronomyths" at 7 p.m., and "Black Holes" at 8 p.m. Planetarium show admission is $2.50/person/show. For more info, call 577-0310.
Veteran entertainers Vern and Rita Davis return for their first show of the fall season from 7 to 10 p.m., at the at the Casper Senior Center, 1831 E. Fourth St. They play a variety of music for listening or dancing in a no smoking, no alcohol atmosphere. Admission is $4 per person; doors open at 6 p.m. Free coffee and punch is provided. Everyone is invited.
Rekindle and Reconnect is the theme of the Girl Scout Alum Overnighter at Camp Sacajawea today and Sunday.
Regardless of what council you grew up in, Girl Scout alum are invited to make new friends, but keep the old, while enjoying singing, campfire, twilight hike, stargazing and s'mores. Participants are welcome to bring their sleeping bags and sleep in the lodge or just spend a few hours at camp.

The Fraternal Order of Eagles, 306 N. Durbin, begins Sunday Morning Breakfast today, serving from 8 to 11 a.m. Open to the public, non-smoking atmosphere. Today's special is kielbasa, eggs, hash browns and choice of biscuit and gravy, toast or pancake for $6.50, as well as a full menu from which to choose.
The Casper Chamber Music Society is pleased to announce Oktoberfest, the annual season opener for CCMS. The event will again be held at the Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 4205 Ft. Caspar Road, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
German food and music will be the centerpiece of the celebration that is the traditional start of the CCMS season. Authentic German music will be provided by Rainer Schwarzkopf.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for students (free admission for children 12 and under) and may be purchased at the door. Admission is free for CCMS season ticket holders, and season tickets may be purchased at the door.
