An abbreviated public activity schedule is on tap this weekend, as families and friends enjoy the weekend between the two big winter holidays.
For restless youngsters and oldsters alike, the Casper Recreation Division is hosting "Play All Day" today at its indoor Rec Center, Ice Arena and Aquatic Center facilities.
For $10 per person, patrons will have use of the entire Recreation Complex. The price includes use of gymnasium, racquetball courts, game room, fitness and weight rooms, open swim with waterslides and lazy river, family swim time, and ice skating. Patrons will also receive a free hot dog from the Ice Arena with purchase of the "Play All Day" pass.
The racquetball courts, game room, and fitness/weight rooms will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The gym will be open for volleyball from 5 to 8 p.m. Open Swim with waterslides and lazy river will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., and family swim from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Public ice skating will be from 1 to 3 p.m.

Tonight, grownups can dance or listen to music provided by career entertainers Vern and Rita Davis at the Casper Senior Center from 7 to 10 p.m. No smoking or alcohol, but there will be music to celebrate the holidays. Admission is $4 per person, doors open at 6 p.m. For more information, call the Senior Center at 265-4678.
On Sunday, families can enjoy a benefit breakfast open to the public at the Casper Elks Lodge 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. Recipient of the proceeds is 13-year-old Amberli Mosteller, who recently underwent a heart transplant. Pancakes, biscuits, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage links, eggs and omelets to order, French toast, potatoes, toast, juice and coffee. All you can eat for $5. Children under 12 are free. On Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m., the Casper Ice Arena will host "Skate Across America" with a mythical stop in Chicago, as part of a once-a-month program during the 2008-09 season. The program will start on the East Coast and will eventually end up in Casper. Each month will feature a new city. These special days will feature music, fun facts and food from the featured city, and will be held during the public skating sessions on Sundays. Admission is only $3 per person and skate rental is $2. Children 4 and under are free with a paid adult. For more information, call 235-8484 or visit www.casperwy.gov.
