Nothing is happening this weekend.

For the most intense "nothing," check out the "Black Holes" program offered by the Casper Planetarium, 904 N. Poplar St., at 8 p.m. today.

The program, according to the planetarium, "will take you on a journey through one of the most mystifying, awe-inspirng phenomena in the universe: a black hole. Where do they come from? Where do they go? How do we find them?"

The truth is out there, even if you can't see it.

If today's show isn't enough nothing, the Planetarium will repeat it on March 21 and 28.

The black hole show follows "Astromyths" at 7 p.m.

"Astromyths will playfully circle around your consciousness, taking you into a flight through light and sound, which will dazzle your senses and increase your knowledge, until it ultimately changes the way you look at the night sky forever," according to the Planetarium.

Now that's something.

But if this isn't your cup of nothing, you'll probably see some instances of nothing-but-net today at the 3A/4A State High School Basketball Tournament at the Casper Events Center.

Games start at 9 a.m. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for students in the morning, and $7 for adults and $6 for students in the evening. For more information, go to www.WHSAA.org or www.caspereventscenter.com.

You can wear almost nothing for the spring break special swim from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Casper Aquatic Center adjacent to the Rec Center. Special admission price is $3.

During the migration west in the 19th century, women often received credit for nothing much.

Not so, according to the temporary exhibit "The Fortitude on the Trails" on display in March for Women's History Month at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, 1501 N. Poplar St. "Women of the trail yoked cattle, drove wagons, collected firewood, poured bullets, spoke out in public meetings, made scientific discoveries, practiced medicine, and then performed all the daily women's duties such as cooking, washing, and caring for the children," according to the center's Web site.www.blm.gov/wy/st/en/NHTIC.html.

The center's winter hours are from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Nothing is a few clicks of the heels away from fantasy, which Stage III Community Theatre offers with "Lewis Carroll: Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast" at 7:30 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday at the theater at 900 N. Center St. Tickets are $12 for adults, and $8 for senior citizens and full-time students. For more information, call 234-0946.

Myth isn't that far away from fantasy, and the history of the West abounds in myth.

The Fort Caspar Museum features two films highlighting the frontier army at a program from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today. State Archaeologist Mark Miller will lead a discussion about separating myth from fact in the portrayals of the army. Participants are welcome to bring lunch, and light refreshments are available. Showings offered free of charge. For more information, call 235-8462.

For those seeking something substantial, the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra presents "From the New World" at Natrona County High School at 7:30 p.m. today. The concert features French horn soloist Eric Ruske. Tickets range from $16 to $33 for adults, and $14 to $18 for students and senior citizens. For more information call 266-1478.

Likewise, the Wyoming Blues & Jazz Society Jam will hold its monthly jam at the Parkway Plaza from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

And for down-to-earth reality, visit the Science Zone located in the Nicolaysen Art Museum, 400 E. Collins Drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

The Science Zone provides science, math and technology experiences to people of all ages. Admission fees are $4 for adults, $3 for children, and free for kids under age 3. For more information call 473-ZONE or go to www.thesciencezone.org.

Regardless of your interests, when people say there's "nothing" to do this weekend, they're right.
