A Casper man pleaded guilty on Friday to sexually assaulting a former coworker.
Vincent Tomas Barba, 21, was initially charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault after a woman he used to work with told police she had been raped.
After a deal with the Natrona County District Attorney's Office, Barba pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree sexual assault.
Police arrested Barba on July 23 after a woman came to the police station to report she was raped.
After sending her to the Wyoming Medical Center for a rape kit, police officers interviewed her and she identified Barba out of a photo lineup, according to a police affidavit.
On July 20 the woman told police that Barba took her to his house to watch a movie, the affidavit stated. He began to touch her inappropriately and repeatedly ignored her when she said "no."
Barba then took her into his bedroom and forced himself on her, according to the affidavit. She told police she told him to stop several times and he did not.
He then talked to someone on the phone and took her home.
Barba is listed on Wyoming's sex offender registry for immoral and indecent acts with a minor in 2006.
Second-degree sexual assault can carry a penalty of between two and 20 years in prison.
Barba is currently being held at the Natrona County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
