Hospital welcomes new management
A new chief nursing officer and chief medical officer began work at the Wyoming Medical Center Monday.
Cathi Blise, chief nursing officer, most recently held the position of Service Line Director of Acute Care Services at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis. Prior to that, she was chief nursing officer at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah.
Dr. Eugene Ogrod began as the chief medical officer. He holds his medical degree from Stanford University and a law degree University of California-Davis. He served as regional medical director at GlaxoSmithKline and chief medical officer as Providence Health Systems in Medford, Ore.
Chief medical officer is a newly created position at WMC. Ogrod will serve as a leader and advisor to the hospital's medical staff.
KW sets registration times
Kelly Walsh High School will host registration next week at the school.
Seniors are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 13; juniors from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 13; sophomores and new students from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Aug. 14; and freshmen and new students from noon to 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 14.
Students will have photos taken for ID cards ($2); order yearbooks ($60); purchase parking registration ($5); pay fines; check out sports uniforms and equipment; check out laptops; review demographic information for parent contacts; and sit for individual photos. Seniors also will be measured for caps and gowns ($25), and sophomores will be given a health update.
Exact change will expedite the registration process, and the school will not cash checks.
The first day of school is Aug. 18.
Exchange students still need homes
The Natrona County School District is still looking for host families for exchange students.
The district is seeking temporary homes for two boys from Venezuela and girls from Venezuela and Germany.

Nic hosts Mardi Gras band
The Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center's eight-week summer concert series - Wednesday Night Live - continues from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with music by Denver-based Fat City Mardi Gras Band.
Wednesday Night Live concerts, which are staged just behind the museum, are free. Listeners are encouraged to bring chairs or blanket. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from local vendors.

CY prepares for new year with schedule pick-up, sports kick-off
Class schedules for eighth- and ninth-grade students at CY Junior High School will be available between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday at the school.
Seventh-graders who attended CY last year as sixth-graders are asked to pick up their schedules at the CY office between 9 and 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 15. An orientation welcome and schedule pick-up for sixth- and seventh-graders who are new to CY is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 15. Students will meet in small groups with their designated mentors.
Ninth-grade football equipment checkout is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Monday in the gym. Physicals need to be completed prior to practice, and documentation must by turned in to the CY office. The first practice in Aug. 18.
Practice and/or information for all other grades and fall sports will be available Aug. 18.
School pictures will be taken Aug. 26 and Back to School night is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.

Library plans summer movie
The Natrona County Public Library will show a summer movie at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Crawford room.
The library's summer reading program grand prize winners will be announced before the film.
