A man's complaint about phone calls for his live-in girlfriend led to the arrest Saturday night of a 44-year-old woman suspected of prostitution, Mills police say.

Jennifer Lynne Mills was taken into custody after she reportedly agreed to have sex with a plain-clothed police officer in exchange for money, according to a statement written by Lt. Phil Crouch of the Mills Police Department.

Police arranged to meet with Mills after her boyfriend told them earlier in the evening that men were calling the apartment he and Mills shared as the result of a classified advertisement in the Quik Quarter, according to an arrest report prepared by officer Justin Lindberg.

The ad offers "relaxing massage" and "pretty, pleasant company," the arrest report says.

Crouch called the number from the ad, and Mills agreed to meet him at a parking lot, the report says. The two negotiated inside his pickup before Crouch drove away and other officers, on cue, pulled the truck over and took Mills into custody.

Crouch said he could not recall "anything like this" in the nine years he has been with the Mills Police Department.

Mills remained in custody on Monday morning, according to jail records. Prostitution is a misdemeanor carrying a sentence of up to six months in jail and a possible fine.
