Woman faces shoplifting, drug charges
Police arrested a Casper woman Saturday suspected of shoplifting from a department store while high on methamphetamine and pushing a baby in a stroller.
Samantha Lorene Mudge, 27, was booked on suspicion of shoplifting, felony drug possession, resisting arrest, endangering a child with methamphetamine and interference, according to police.
An employee at Macy's in the Eastridge Mall told officers Mudge had allegedly hid clothing under a blanket on the stroller and then tried to leave without paying, according to a police affidavit.
When officers arrived, they said they found a substance on Mudge that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Police suspect woman stole medication
A Casper woman is suspected of stealing morphine pills from an elderly friend of her mother's.
Police arrested Misty Lynn Nickerson, 35, on Sunday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and petty larceny, according to a police affidavit.
A man told police he discovered the medication was missing Thursday. He suspected Nickerson because she was the only other person who had been at his house that day besides him and his wife, according to the affidavit.
Police say Nickerson eventually admitted to taking the pills.
