Douglas and Alliance, Neb., were the overall winners at Saturday's UW Marching Band Invitational, sponsored by The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps and the University of Wyoming Western Thunder Marching Band.
Douglas took the overall Class 3A competition, while Alliance topped the Class 4A schools in attendance.
Finishing second in Class 3A was Worland and third place went to Ogallala, Neb.
In Class 4A, Alliance was followed by Riverton and Cheyenne East.

Auxiliary: 3A, Douglas; 4A, tie, Scottsbluff, Neb., and Cheyenne East
Drum Majors: 3A, Douglas; 4A, Cheyenne East
Music: 3A, Douglas; 4A, Alliance
Marching: 3A, Douglas; 4A, Campbell County
Each band performed for 15 minutes and then received a 15-minute clinic, as well as the opportunity to watch a video of its performance.
Wyoming high school bands are preparing for the annual Wyoming State High School Marching Band Festival, which will be held at the Casper Events Center on Oct. 17.
High school bands will again gather in Laramie on Nov. 7 for the traditional Band Day festivities in conjunction with the Wyoming-BYU Mountain West Conference football game.
