Star-Tribune staff reports

Officers arrested a Casper husband and wife on suspicion of child endangerment after police say they found syringes, a digital scale and suspected methamphetamine inside their home.

Police responded to the residence of Amber and Joshua Rodgers in the 700 block of 14th Street after receiving a complaint of possible drug use at a home with a baby, according to a police affidavit.

At the home, Amber Rodgers showed officers a black jewelry box that contained two syringes and four small bags with a residue consistent with methamphetamine, the affidavit states. Officers ultimately seized five syringes, along with a spoon with a white powdery substances that later tested positive for meth.

She denied using drugs near the child, explaining that the couple would send the child to relatives while they used, according to police.

The couple was booked into Natrona County Detention Center. The child was temporarily taken into protective custody and then placed with a relative.
