Six finalists are up for the Casper Woman of Distinction Award, an event celebrating its 13th year of honoring women volunteers at a luncheon on April 3.

This year's finalists are Mary Ann Budenske, Laura A. Burback, Erica Costello, Susan Griffith, Kenyne Schlager and Marta Freyre Stroock.

The award is based on a cumulative point system including professional activities, volunteerism, citizenship, community service, leadership, human rights including the status of women, high education standards, depth of commitments and vocal and visible advocacy in her community.

The planning committee is made up of members of four service organizations - the American Association of University Women, American Panhellenic, the American Society of Women Accountants and Soroptimist International of Central Wyoming.

Marcia Patton, the 2007 Woman of Distinction, will deliver the keynote address.

The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parkway Plaza Hotel. Luncheon choices are chicken cordon bleu, beef or vegetarian priced at $15 for reservations received before March 27, and $20 after.
