Employees: Company lays off workers
Current and former employees reported that Teton Buildings, formerly Teton Homes, laid off approximately 115 workers during meetings on Friday afternoon.
Teton Homes, known for manufacturing high-end trailers, sold its physical contents at an auction on the Natrona County Courthouse steps on Oct. 2. The company, owned by Boston-based Webster Capital, had defaulted on an almost $6.5 million loan. Zions National Bank purchased the contents for slightly more than $1 million.
An attorney for Zions, which held the lien on the property, said he didn't know what would be done with the property or the business after the sale.
CEO Chris Braun didn't comment at the auction and also was not available on Friday.
Calls to Teton Homes on Friday were answered with this recorded message: "Hello. You have reached Teton Homes Corporation. Teton Homes is no longer taking orders, manufacturing product or performing service work. If there is something else we can help you with, please leave a message after the tone. Thank you."
Searchers look for fisherman in Snake River
Searchers were continuing to look in the Snake River for a missing Casper fisherman on Friday afternoon, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses said they saw 23-year-old Joshua Lee Martin of Casper slip into the river near the Sheep Gulch boat ramp on the afternoon of Nov. 15 while wearing waders.
Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson told the Jackson Hole News and Guide on Thursday that the witnesses reported watching Martin struggle in the water. Johnson said the waders could have filled with water and dragged Martin down.
Johnson said the Star Valley Search and Rescue has been looking at areas of the river where Martin could be found. Johnson said searchers plan to continue to look in likely spots of the river.
WYDOT: Remove election signs
The Wyoming Department of Transportation encourages anyone who has placed campaign signs within the state right-of-way to remove them, according to a release. WYDOT workers will soon be looking for signs and removing them.
"Not only do the signs present a potential safety hazard, they're fast-becoming eyesores now that the election is over," said Jeff Goetz, WYDOT District 2 public involvement specialist.
Any leftover signs found on right-of-way or property will be removed and taken to the District 2 office, 900 Bryan Stock Trail, or to the nearest WYDOT field office. Signs will be available for pick-up for five days after removal. Signs not picked up after five days will be discarded.
