Police arrested a convicted sex offender Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.
The 20-year-old Casper man allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl in his home after picking her up from her job earlier this week, said Casper Police Detective Tina Tweedy.
He picked up the girl, who is staying in Casper with relatives, to take her to her home, Tweedy said. Instead of driving her to her home, he took her to his house.
After making advances on her, he took her into his bedroom and assaulted her, Tweedy said. She repeatedly told him to stop and eventually pushed him away.
She freed herself of him in the house and he later took her home, the detective stated.
He was convicted in 2006 of immoral or indecent acts in Casper and was sentenced to three years supervised probation.
Under Wyoming law, a person convicted of first-degree sexual assault could face between five and 50 years in prison.
The man appeared in Natrona County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon and was being held at the Natrona County Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond.
