The Natrona County school board will meet with Krenek Consulting, LLC at the board's work session this evening. Krenek Consulting will provide the school district with an organization assessment of its performance.
According to a handout from the company, the Texas-based firm assists rural and urban public school districts in maximizing their potential in becoming high performing organizations.
Krenek looks at seven components and 57 elements in assessing a district. The seven components are:
* Leadership: strong, visionary, results-oriented leadership;
* Strategic planning: alignment of action, resources and action;
* Curriculum and teaching: standards-based curriculum and powerful teaching;
* Stakeholder engagement: active engagement of internal and external stakeholders'
* Stellar people: stellar teachers, board members, leaders, support staff members who are continuously growing and learning;
* Effective and efficient processes: aligned and linked core business processes that support the system; and
* Accountability: employee and student accountability for results.
The purpose of an organization assessment is to gauge the performance of a district from various perspectives, provide a rigorous, objective and external view of the district, assess progress towards the seven components and provide suggestions and feedback about improvement.
The board will also vote on a recommendation to eliminate Natrona County School District's gymnastics programs.
The board's work session begins at 6 p.m. and the regular session begins at 7:30 p.m. Public comment is taken at the beginning of board's regular session meetings.
Meetings take place at the district's Central Services office, located at 970 N. Glenn Road.
