Police: Text threat is a hoax
The Casper Police Department fielded between 30 and 40 calls on Thursday from concerned Casper residents who received a text message saying someone was going to go to a Wal-Mart and shoot three women, said Casper Sgt. Steve Schulz.
The text is bad information and may have originated out of Tennessee, Schulz said.
Some of the reports said the texts came from an unknown number and others were then forwarded by friends. Schulz said they are not legitimate and have spread around the country.
