A fourth suspect has been arrested in connection with graffiti that was spraypainted onto property in north Casper earlier this week.

Marque L. Chavez, 18, faces felony property destruction and conspiracy charges, according to a court affidavit provided by Casper police.

He was arrested Thursday, a day after police arrested three others teens - Pedro Treto, Bradley James Stewart and Michael William Haworth - suspected of being involved in at least 10 acts of graffiti on Tuesday night.

In the affidavit, Chavez described the incident for detectives:

He and five others, including Treto, Stewart and Haworth, got the paint at the west-side Wal-Mart, then headed to a Loaf 'N Jug gas station on North Center Street. The group then began spraypainting property in an alley behind H and G streets.

Chavez, of Casper, told detectives that he knew the people whose property was damaged and he did not get along with them.

A phone call from a citizen tipped police off to the vandalism and ultimately led to the arrests.

Stewart, 18, and Treto, 17, are being charged with felony property damage and conspiracy. Haworth, 18, faces a single conspiracy charge.

The incident marks the first occasion where Casper police have charged people in direct connection to graffiti.

More arrests related to graffiti are likely, Sgt. Brad Wnuk said Friday.
