A barn fire west of Casper on Sunday took nearly everything John Long owned, he said.
"I had about 30 years worth of tack," Long said.
Some of that tack was older than that, including a treasured saddle he used in rodeo, he said.
The fire at his residence at 11555 Zero Road west of Casper also destroyed furniture, a lifetime collection of tools and other equipment he was using to build a house, he said.
No people or livestock were injured, said Natrona County Fire Protection District Chief Kevin Finn.
The district received the call about the fire at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Finn said.
"The first crews found a fully involved fire in the barn," Finn said.
Long had moved some hay into the barn before the fire started, he said. "It was a total loss."
The barn fire also started a grass fire, which crews extinguished, saving a nearby residence, according to a news release from Dave Baker of the Natrona County Fire Protection District.
Besides the district, other agencies - Casper Fire-EMS, Mills Fire Department, Natrona County Sheriff's Office, the Wyoming Medical Center, the Natrona County Rehab Unit, and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management - with at least 16 firefighters and other personnel fought the blaze, according to Baker.
The fire started in the northeast corner of the barn, but the ignition source is still under investigation.
Foul play is not being considered as a factor in the blaze, Finn said.
