Blowing snow and poor visibility prompted the Wyoming Highway Patrol to issue a "no unnecessary travel" warning for Casper Mountain Road, a dispatcher said Sunday.

Winds were steady at more than 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph, blowing snow across Casper Mountain Road - Wyoming Highway 251 - causing drifting and rendering visibility to near whiteout conditions for those traveling to and from the Hogadon Ski Area.

The Highway Patrol issued another "no unnecessary travel" advisories for Wyoming Boulevard.

It also issued multiple black ice advisories for those roads, as well as Interstate 25 from north of Casper south to Glenrock, Wyoming Highway 220 from Casper to Alcova, and U.S. Highway 20-26 from Casper to Waltman.

The storm on Friday and Saturday dumped between 6 inches and 9 inches in Casper, and 8.5 inches on Casper Mountain, according to the Riverton office of the National Weather Service.

Southwest winds will continue today between 15 mph and 25 mph, with more blowing snow in the morning. High temperatures will range between 24 and 28, according to the Weather Service.

Clouds and a 20 percent chance of snow will return by nightfall.
