County gives library board time
The Natrona County Board of Commissioners signed in advance and will later ratify an agreement allowing the Natrona County Library Board to hold the land that was slated for a new library building.
Citizens voted Nov. 4 against the temporary sixth-cent sales tax that would have funded the new library project, but Library Board President Chris Mullen asked the commissioners for additional time to re-work the plan and find other possible funding. Per the agreement, the land will be held for 60 days, until Jan. 31, at which time the commissioners and library will meet again.
The commissioners will officially approve the agreement at their next regular meeting, at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 16 at the County Annex building, 120 W. First St.
Police arrest burglary suspect
Police Monday arrested a Casper man in connection with a break-in at CY Liquors.
Thomas Earl Hinkley, 23, was booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy, according to a police affidavit.
Officers responding to the liquor store just before 4 a.m. found a glass door had been shattered. Police later reviewed a surveillance tape that showed two men looking around the store about a half hour earlier. One of the men kicked in the door, and the other slid between some metal bars and grabbed two bottles of wine from a shelf, the affidavit states.
