Museum hosts lecture series
Fort Caspar Museum will host a six-week summer lecture series - focusing on impressions of Wyoming - at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays from July 9 to Aug. 13. Lectures are free of charge and will take place in the Multi-Use Room at Fort Caspar Museum.
Topics for the series include railroad development in the American West, Wyoming's prehistoric and historic landscape, the state's highway system, the frontier army in the Upper Platte Region, American Indian rock art in the Bighorn Basin, and the Red Desert.
The programs are funded by a grant from the Wyoming Humanities Council.

Rec facilities close for Fourth
The Casper Recreation Center, Casper Family Aquatic Center and the City of Casper Outdoor Pools will be closed Friday for the Fourth of July. Facilities will resume their normal schedules on Saturday, July 5, 2008.

Roosevelt visits Fort Caspar
Gib Young will portray President Theodore Roosevelt in Wyoming at 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Caspar Museum. The presentations are free with admission: $3 for adults, $2 for youth ages 13-18, and free for children 12 and under.
Participants will learn about his visits to the West and the Roosevelt family.
