Robbery suspect pleads not guilty
A Colorado man pleaded not guilty Friday to a charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
Authorities suspect David Hammond, 19, assisted in the planning of the August robbery of a Casper liquor store. They also allege he gave the suspected triggerman, Benjamin Mark Bayne, a flannel jacket to cover up tattoos on his arms.
The store clerk refused to give up any money during the robbery.
Hammond also faces charges related to burglaries committed over the summer in the Casper area.
Committee plans Casper meeting
The state's Joint Education Interim Committee will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 28 and 29 at the University of Wyoming Outreach Building, 951 N. Poplar, in Casper, according to a release.
Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations for the meeting are asked to contact the Legislative Service Office for assistance.
Among the items on Tuesday's agenda is a discussion on the Hathaway Scholarship program. Wednesday's schedule includes time allotted for charter schools and distance education.

Library hosts meetings in Mills, Midwest
The Natrona County Public Library will host informational meetings on its project to build a new facility in Mills and Midwest, according to a release.
The Mills meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bob Goff Memorial Library; the Midwest meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Midwest School's cafeteria.
Residents will hear comprehensive information about the new library project and be able to ask questions.

Centennial hosts annual veteran's program
Centennial Junior High will host it's annual veteran's assembly at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 7 in the school's gymnasium, according to a release. Veterans are invited to attend.
All visiting veterans are asked to meet in the library between 8 and 8:30 for coffee and rolls. At 8:30, all guests will be escorted to the gym by mentor students. The program will consist of several guest speakers, including several veterans and Dr. Joel Dvorak, superintendent of Natrona County schools. Also featured will be the Centennial Music Department.

College offers treats, will X-ray candy
The Casper College Health Sciences Division will offer treats, a haunted house, carnival and prizes from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Halloween night, according to a release. The college's radiography association members and radiography faculty will also X-ray Halloween treats.
The X-rays will show most metallic objects, according to Laurie Weaver, chair of the college's radiography department. Parents are cautioned, however, to inspect all the treats, since X-rays cannot detect the presence of chemical substances or nonmetalic objects such as glass.
Admission to the haunted house, intended for children eight and older, is a nonperishable food item that will be donated to a local food pantry. The carnival is for children ages 2 and older.
Library plans scary storytime
The Natrona County Public Library will host a "Spooky Storytime" at 10:30 a.m. on Oct. 25, according to a release.
Children are invited to wear their costumes to the event, which will include spooky and not-so-spooky stories.
Spooky stories and other books will be available for checkout after the program.
