Museum schedules adult docent classes

The Nicolaysen Art Museum & Discovery Center will offer an adult docent program beginning Tuesday, according to a release.

The free, five-week program is designed to equip adults with skills to discover and connect with contemporary art. Other benefits include 10 percent off family museum membership, invitations to NIC events and volunteer opportunities.

The class will meet each Tuesday from 12 to 1 p.m.

Business plan workshop

Natrona County Public Library and the Wyoming Small Business Development Center will hold a free business plan workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a release.

The workshop will provide attendees with tools to write great business plans for beginners and experienced businessmen. Participants will learn about what a business plan should include, how to do market research, and how to create pro-forma financial statements.

Hawaiian food and dancing at CC

A dinner of Hawaiian foods and dance lessons will be offered for the next Casper College Diversity Committee Ethnic Dinner on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Roberts Commons Cafeteria, according to a release.

The menu for the Hawaiian dinner includes ono macaroni salad, tropical fruit salad, fresh tossed salad and salad bar, corn chowder with sausage, grilled mahi mahi with herbs, kailua pig, huli huli chicken on a stick, island stir fry with fresh pineapple and sticky rice, aloha sweet potatoes, and for dessert, banana bread with macadamia nuts and pineapple upside down cake.

Hawaiian dance lessons will be offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Tickets are available for $10 at the door, $7 for ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.

Learn about trigger point therapy

The Natrona County Public Library is holding a series of "Wellness" workshops in the coming year. Dr. Madelaine Stout with the Foundation for Wellness Professionals will provide hands-on sessions about a variety of health issues.

A workshop about Trigger Point Therapy - a way to ease knots of tension - will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Crawford room. The session is free and open to the public. The library also provides reliable books and digital resources to find out about health issues. Taxidermy class at Casper College

A taxidermy class will be offered through the Casper College Continuing Education Department on Feb. 27 and 28, according to a release.

"Basic Taxidermy" will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The first night will feature a talk and question-and-answer session. The next day, a film on skinning animals will be shown, but there will not be any hands-on skinning in the class.
