Law enforcement seeks volunteers
The Natrona County Sheriff's Office and Casper police are looking for volunteers to serve as critical incident first responders with the Victim Response Unit.
The responders will provide support at crime scenes, accidents, and after natural deaths.
Candidates must complete an application and background investigation, along with an interview and 40 hours of training. The training, scheduled for Sept. 11 to 14, involves four, 10-hour days to prepare responders for incidents they might encounter in the field.
Applications can be picked up at the sheriff's office, on the second floor of the Hall of Justice, 201 N. David St., Casper. They must be completed and returned by July 19.
The law enforcement agencies are also seeking certified chaplains.
For more information, contact Victim Witness Coordinator Lorrie Wnuk at 235-9298. She is available Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Holiday means more traffic enforcement
The Natrona County Sheriff's Office is stepping up traffic enforcement during the Fourth of July holiday.
The agency started the Combined Accident Reduction Enforcement program on June 22 with the aim of getting motorists to slow down, use seat belts and avoid driving drunk. The program runs through Sunday.
