City employees may soon be polled about their salary satisfaction.

During this year's Casper City Council budget session, some council members wanted to have a comprehensive survey done of all city employees to measure their pay.

The city's human resources department will give the council options during its work session at 4:30 p.m. today at the council meeting room in Casper City Hall.

The council can choose a quicker, less expensive and less comprehensive study, or a longer, more expensive and more in-depth survey.

In other council news, Legacy-Casper Partners, a group building a low-income senior housing project in north Casper will ask the council to waive more than $50,000 in permitting fees. The council may use federal Community Development Block Grant Funds to offset the costs.

The council will also hear a request to help fund the September Platte River Revival.

This will be the second of a five-year effort to clean the North Platte River. It's a volunteer day that gathers hundreds of people from the community. Last year, more than 300 volunteers worked to remove 381,480 pounds of debris and planted 11 native tree species, according to a memo from city staff to the council.

Multiple community groups also sponsored the event, and the coordinators hope to receive $14,000 from council to reimburse the solid waste, parks and streets divisions as well as the fire/EMS and police departments for their direct costs.

The Casper Area Economic Development Alliance will ask the council for $50,000 in 2009 and $100,000 in 2010 to help support the Casper Area Business Innovation Center.
