The Kiwanis Club of Casper is teaming up with other Casper organizations for the 19th annual Coats For Kids campaign.

Anyone needing a warm winter coat, gloves or boots may visit the Salvation Army Hope Center, 441 S. Center, where they will be distributed from 10 a.m. to noon today and from 3 to 5 p.m. every Thursday.

People wanting to help the program may take their new or used coats, gloves and boots to any Natrona County school or Western Vista Credit Union, the Casper College Saunders Health Science Center or Next Generation Learning Center through Friday. They do ask that coats be in good repair.

The coats are transported to the Wyoming Medical Center where they are cleaned before being taken to the Salvation Army Hope Center.

Distribution continues every Thursday and Saturday until Dec. 6.

A new concept in fundraising comes to Casper today as the Muscular Dystrophy Association hosts the Hunt for a Cure activity to benefit ALS Services & Research.

Teams of four will register for $300 and "hunt" around town, receive clues and find "journey sites" to perform an easy task or solve a riddle. Teams completing each task or riddle will earn a token.

After the afternoon hunt is complete, an evening event will be hosted at Cost Plus Appliances from 6 to 10 p.m., where tokens will be entered into a prize drawing. Food, desserts and beverages will be provided, as well as live entertainment from the Tremors.

A limited number of tickets for the evening event without the afternoon hunt are available for $85 per couple. For information or to register, call Melissa Ortberg at 472-0755.

The fourth annual A Tribute to Chris LeDoux award-winning PRCA rodeo and concert is tonight at 7 p.m., at the Arena at the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds. The rodeo was named the 2005 PRCA Small Indoor Rodeo of the Year and the 2006 Cowboys Choice Award, Mountain States Circuit Finals.

Tickets good for the rodeo and concert by Trent Willmon immediately following are available at the Casper Chamber of Commerce with lower level seating $30 and upper level seating $20. After the rodeo has sold out, concert-only tickets will be available for $20.

Three independent consultants host a Holiday Boutique today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Ramada Plaza Riverside Birch Room. Products include HRH Beaded Creations, specializing in flatware, coordinated serving dishes, glassware and table decor, as well as a beaded footware and accessory line; Silpada Designs fine sterling silver jewelry and The Body Shop at Home bath, body and hair products.

Singers are invited to participate in rehearsals for the annual Festival Choir & Orchestra concert, which will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

The rehearsals will be held at Our Saviour's, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays beginning today and continuing through Dec. 6; rehearsal will not be held on Thanksgiving weekend.

The choir will present a variety of pieces with accompaniments, from piano to full orchestra. Featured performers will include Christine Dunbar, cellist; the horn ensemble Cornocopia, and the Casper Recorder Consort. A new work by Fred Taylor, "Magnificat," will be debuted. A choir registration fee of $10 will help defray costs. For information, call director Carolyn Deuel at 265-1564.

Stage III Community Theatre and the Casper Planetarium present "War of the Worlds" by Howard Koch, adapted from the novel by H.G. Wells, at 7:30 tonight and 2 p.m. Sunday. All shows are held at the Planetarium, which is also the outlet for advance tickets. Admission is $6 per person. The production is a readers' theatre recreation of old-time radio theatre, enhanced with visual effects on the dome. The show is about one hour long and is suitable for all ages.

It is time for the Super Flea, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Industrial Building at the Fairgrounds.

The Super Flea will have 57 dealers from Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota , Colorado, around the state of Wyoming and Casper with a huge variety of merchandise.

One-fourth of the admission paid, $2, for everyone 12 and older, will be donated to the Casper Doll Club. Annual proceeds are donated to 37 museums statewide and other nonprofit organizations in Natrona County. Book donations are given to the Natrona and Converse County libraries.

The Casper Recreation Center is proud to offer Weight Training 101, a new class beginning today. Participants will learn proper form and safe weight lifting techniques for conditioning and toning, and also how to set goals and keep personal progress charts.

Weight Training 101 is appropriate for all participants 16 and older, and is geared to individuals who are not familiar with weight equipment, want to improve their workout, or would like to get back into working out after taking some time off from doing so. Weight Training 101 will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturdays in the Casper Recreation Center weight room today through Dec. 20 (seven classes).

Preregistration is required, and the fee is $28 for CRC members; $40 for nonmembers. For more information, call the Casper Recreation Center at 235-8383.

The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities at the University of Wyoming will provide free training - via video conference - to relatives, parents and grandparents who are raising children with any type of disability.

The sessions are planned from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Nov. 15, and 22 at all video sites. Lunch and respite care will be provided to those who register ahead of time.

UW's Outreach Video Network will connect Casper, Cheyenne, Evanston, Gillette, Laramie, Powell, Riverton, Rock Springs, Sheridan and Torrington via video conference.

Family members will learn about special educational needs, community resources and supports and legislative issues. For information about the sites and to register, call Diane Magill at 635-5999.

The Casper Senior Center, 1831 E. Fourth St., will host a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. with music provided by Casper's five-piece band, "Swing Sounds." Admission is $4 per person, $25 of the total admissions is donated to the Senior Center.
