Two people died in an automobile accident near mile marker 19 on U.S. Highway 20/26 west of Casper about 3 a.m. Sunday morning, according to a Wyoming Highway Patrol dispatcher. Officials have not yet released the victims' identities as authorities were still working to contact family members.

A Dodge Magnum traveling eastbound and a GMC Envoy traveling westbound collided head-on near the center of the roadway.

A woman, 24 and man, 30 in the Dodge were killed, and the vehicle was badly burned. They appeared to have been wearing seat belts.

The driver of the GMC was transported to Wyoming Medical Center. His condition could not be learned Monday.
