Playwright, author, director and educator William Missouri Downs will be the featured speaker at the Casper NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet scheduled for Feb. 2 at the Parkway Plaza Hotel and Convention Centre.

Downs’ credits include script writing for television programs “Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” “Amen” and “My Two Dads.”

Presenting "Life through different eyes," Downs will share his insights about the barriers that too often hinder our task of building "a more perfect union." He splits time between New York and Laramie, where he is a professor at the University of Wyoming.

The banquet starts at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $25 per meal with a reservation deadline of Jan. 29. Purchase tickets from Joanne at 234-6266.
