One person is dead and Interstate 25 southbound is closed after a head-on collision two miles northwest of Douglas.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol said in a release that two commercial vehicles collided inside a construction zone on the interstate late Thursday afternoon, killing at least one person involved and injuring two others. Those injured were transported to Converse County Memorial Hospital in Douglas.
Highway Patrol Sgt. Stephen Townsend said troopers are still on-site and could offer no further details.
The highway will remain closed for an unknown amount of time as the highway patrol investigates. Detours are in place at near mile marker 147, rerouting traffic through Douglas.
