A Casper woman was arrested Saturday morning after crashing a Cadillac Escalade into a house on Kearney Avenue near the Central Wyoming Fairgrounds.
Police arrested Crystal Armatha Kletsch on suspicion of driving while under the influence, destruction of property and reckless endangering after the crash, according to her arrest affidavit.
Kletsch told police she was following another SUV because she thought the driver had stolen her electronics, according to a police document. She said she had tried to avoid hitting the other vehicle but failed and rear-ended it. The other vehicle flipped on its top after hitting the curb, she told police. Her vehicle drove off the road and then crashed into the home.
The other driver was treated by emergency personnel at the scene. He told police Kletsch had chased him around her house with a hammer before he got in his SUV and took off. Kletsch chased him before wrecking into the house, he told police. He said he thought Kletsch had intentionally tried to ram his vehicle.
Police noted that Kletsch was showing signs of methamphetamine intoxication and gave her a field sobriety test, which she failed.
Officers estimated the crash caused "well over" $1,000 in damage to the home, according to the affidavit.
Kletsch remained in jail Tuesday morning, according to sheriff's office documents.
