Local law enforcement is looking for volunteers to work with victim response units.

The Natrona County Sheriff's Office and Casper Police Department have asked potential volunteers to submit applications by Feb. 28.

Volunteers who successfully complete training will be asked to assist during responses to scenes of potentially traumatic crimes, including sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide and suicide.

Applications for the program can be found at either department's office, located at 201 N. David St.

After submitting applications, potential volunteers will then undergo background investigations and oral interviews followed by 40 hours of training.

More information is also available from Casper Police Department's Victim Witness Coordinator Leslie Fritzler, who can be reached at 307-235-8347 or Natrona County Sheriff's Office Victim Services Coordinator Dalene Asmus at 307-235-9338.
