A Natrona County man appeared in court Tuesday to face charges he raped a 17-year-old girl at least five times.

Viliami Tuakoi, 59, did not speak in Natrona County Circuit Court except to answer procedural questions.

Tuakoi held the girl down during the course of at least one assault, prosecutor Trevor Schenk said.

Over the course of two interviews with Natrona County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Tuakoi admitted to sexually assaulting the girl, according to court documents. The interviews were conducted on Monday and Tuesday.

Prosecutors allege that Tuakoi forced the girl from a bed onto the floor so other people in the house would not hear the assault. The girl told investigators that she tried to make noise during the assaults so that someone might hear and intervene, the documents state.

Judge Michael Patchen set Tuakoi’s bond at $100,000 cash or surety, and ordered he forfeit his passport.

Tuakoi faces three felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor. If the case is bonded over to district court, he will then have an opportunity to enter pleas to the charges.
