A school bus driver was one of three people hospitalized Monday night following a wreck on Interstate 25. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash.

A total of 16 vehicles were involved in the crash, including the Natrona County School District bus, according to Wyoming Highway Patrol Lt. Clint Haver.

It took the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, Evansville Police Department and the highway patrol two-and-a-half hours to fully reopen the road, Haver said.

The lieutenant said he did not know the extent of the three drivers' injuries.

He said he did not know the cause of the crash, but said bad weather was a contributing factor.

In 2016, 18 percent of all crashes in Wyoming took place on icy roads, according to a report published by the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
