Sentences

*Leonel Dominguez-Larez, 35, of Mexico was sentenced by Chief Federal District Court Judge William F. Downes on Nov. 8, 2005, for illegal re-entry of a previously deported alien into the United States. Dominguez-Larez received two years, six months of imprisonment and three years of supervised release. Upon release from imprisonment, Dominguez-Larez shall be delivered to a duly authorized immigration official for deportation. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

On April 29, 2005, Dominguez-Larez was arrested by the Evanston Police Department for a failure to appear warrant issued in Uinta County, Wyoming. Subsequently, it was determined that Dominguez-Larez had previous convictions in Wyoming for re-entry after deportation and for delivery of a controlled substance, and had been deported from the United States to Mexico twice before in 1996 and again in 2001.

*Merced Jose Zamora, 24, of Manderson was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Clarence A. Brimmer on Nov.10, 2005, for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of approximately 3/4 of a pound of methamphetamine. Zamora received 11 years of imprisonment, a $400 fine, and five years of supervised release. This case was investigated by the Washakie County Sheriff's Department, Worland Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Among other things, the investigation in this case included a search of Zamora's residence pursuant to a search warrant. The search produced controlled substances, currency, narcotics scales, and other drug-related items.

*David Allen Schroeder, 29, of Gillette was sentenced by Federal District Court Judge Alan B. Johnson on Dec. 1, 2005 for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute approximately 1 pound of methamphetamine. Schroeder received five years, 10 months of imprisonment, a $350 fine, and four years of supervised release. This case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
