Schools
Park gets arts grant
Park Elementary School has received a $2,023 Arts in Education grant from the Wyoming Arts Council.
The grant will fund visits by guest artists Babs Case with Contemporary Dance Wyoming (for three days) and Becky Morris with Casper Children's Theater (for five 5 days).
Both artists will work with all Park students on movement, dance and dramatic production.
Dates of their visits will be established at a later time.
"Park school believes the the use of the creative arts in education enhances children's learning," according to Principal Doris Waddell. "It uses more of the right side of the brain, whereas some of the traditional school subjects tend to use more of the left side of the brain. Any experiences we can provide that stretch a child's creative talents will be embraced by this community."
Call Doris at 577-4593 for more information.
