Robert Rodgers, son of Neil and Connie Rodgers of Casper, performed as a member of the St. Michael's College Chorale in a Christmas concert of "Lessons and Carols," in the college's Chapel of St. Michael the Archangel.
Rodgers is a sophomore biology major and sings bass. He is a graduate of Kelly Walsh High School.
St. Michael's is a liberal arts residential Catholic college in Colchester, Vt.
The widely popular Christmas Lessons and Carols Concert has become one of the highlights of the holiday season in the Burlington area, drawing a standing room only audience to the 1,200-seat chapel.
*CASPER STUDENT GOES TO WASHINGTON: Ricardo Lind-Gonzalez, a student at Dean Morgan Junior High School in Casper, was accepted and attended the People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., this fall.
He was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
He is the son of Rosario Gumfory-Gonzalez of Evansville. Numerous Casper businesses and individuals made his trip possible.
*STUDENTS EARN KSU SCHOLARSHIPS: The following students from Wyoming have earned scholarships to Kansas State University totaling at least $1,000:
Kyle Douglas Karst, Casper, Mae and Cora Anderson Scholarship and Legacy Award; Whitney Ann Achter, Cheyenne, Engineering Scholarship and K-State academic scholarship; Jeffrey Elliott Brown, Laramie, Elise Wall Vesco Scholarship; Tyler Beau Yeik, Veteran, Salina College of Technology Scholarship and William R. and Elaine A. Gross Scholarship.
*EDUCATION HONORARY: The following students were recently chosen for membership in the Alpha Mu chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at the University of Wyoming:
Jacklyn Burke, Imperial, Neb.; Rose DeNinno, Jackson; Amy Engling, Douglas; Summer Johnson, Laramie; Allison Lynch, Buffalo; Whitney Mueller, Centennial, Colo.; Casey Read, Cheyenne; Samuel Schleiger, Berthoud, Colo.; Megan Smith, Cheyenne; Mary Wellman, Denver and Jill Wiebers, Wellington, Colo.
Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in education, elects those to membership who exhibit the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards and promise in teaching and allied professions.
Selection is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career and a professional attitude that assures a steady growth in the profession.
The new members were initiated into membership on Dec. 1.
*CASPER STUDENT AT COLBY: Peter J. Barrasso, son of Linda Nix and John Barrasso of Casper, is enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He is a graduate of Natrona County High School.
The 475 students in Colby's Class of 2010 were selected from a pool of 4,200 applicants. The college has an enrollment of 1,800 students.
