Nick Heimann of Casper, a student at Natrona County High School, has been selected for membership in The National Society of High School Scholars. The society invites only those students who have superior academic achievement and are among the top scholars in the nation.
Heimann is the manager of the NC Fillies swim team, a member of the NC Mustangs swim team, the NC track team and a member of the Casper Swim Club. He is also a coach for the Casper Swim Club.
The National Society of High School Scholars was founded to recognize outstanding academic performance among high school students. Membership is by invitation only and includes valuable benefits for members such as scholarships, networking, events, publications and other unique opportunities.
Heimann has also been nominated twice for Who's Who Among America's High School Students, something he was told happens to only 1 percent of high school students.
He is the son of John and Theresa Heimann of Casper.

*CASPER GIRL ATTENDS D.C. CONFERENCE: Kaylee Zimmer, daughter of Rick and Pam Zimmer of Casper and a student at Dean Morgan Junior High School, participated in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference this summer in Washington, D.C. The conference is a unique leadership development program for middle school students.
The theme of the conference was "The Legacy of American Leadership," and its curriculum led students through the evolution of the United States.
Zimmer participated in a reception on Capitol Hill, visited Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia, the Smithsonian Institution's American History Museum and participated in a sleepover at the Maryland Science Center.
*CASPER GIRL ENROLLS AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN: Michelle Fuhrman of Casper, daughter of Roger and
Linda Fuhrman of Casper, is attending Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., this fall. Michelle plans to major in International Studies. She graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in June 2004.
She was accepted to Rocky Mountain College based on her educational performance, which includes her high school grade point average, course selection, ACT or SAT scores, and letters of recommendation.
Rocky Mountain College, a private, residential, liberal arts college founded in 1878, is the first institution of higher learning in Montana. Students are challenged by an ethically-based, interdisciplinary academic program, and benefit from individual attention both in and out of the classroom. The college offers majors and minors in 40 programs of study, including pre-
professional and professional specialties such as earth and environmental sciences, equestrian studies, aviation studies and a physician assistant program.
*CASPER GIRL WINS SCHOLARSHIP: Krista S. Eggerman of Casper was awarded the Betty J. Schmidt athletic training scholarship at Colorado State University-Pueblo for the 2004-05 academic year.
