*Beginning Nov. 8, Drop-In Open Gyms for basketball and volleyball will begin at area schools. Organized team practices are not allowed. Participants must bring clean non-marking shoes to wear while playing. Everyone must register and present their privilege card to participate. High School and Adult Volleyball will be from 6:30-10 p.m.: Monday at Southridge Elementary and Thursday at Westwood Elementary. Basketball will be restricted by age levels: 6:30-7:30 p.m. for grades 4-6; 7:30-8:30 p.m. for junior high; and 8:30-10 p.m. for high school and adults: Monday at Sagewood Elementary; Tuesday at McKinley and Manor Heights elementaries; Wednesday at Sagewood and Crest Hill elementaries; and Thursday at McKinley Elementary.

STAGE III COMMUNITY THEATER

Stage III Community Theater, 900 N. Center St., presents the premiere of Jim Danek's "Evelyn's Girls," a drama set in the early 1970s. *Auditions for "Copenhagen" will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the theater. The play centers around the two nuclear physicists who discovered the atomic formula for the bomb; and their famous walk in their park during the war. The story takes place in the early 1940s; men's and women's parts are available and intense studies of the characters and play will be held at the beginning of rehearsals, with time off for Christmas.
