Carmen Kay Moore, 72, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at RoseCrest Retirement Community in South Caromina after an extended illness.
A native of Casper, Wyoming, Kay was the daughter of the late Harry and Betty Moore and Orley and Clarice Johnson. She graduated from National County High School in 1963 and continued her studies at Casper College. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree later in life from the University of Wyoming.
Kay took great pride in the City of Casper and was heavily involved with many civic groups. From President of the Camp Fire Girls and Boys to being a member of Neighborhood Housing organizing “Paint Your Heart Out” she was constantly volunteering somewhere.
When Kay retired after 30 years as a computer programmer for the state of Wyoming, she decided to move beyond the Wyoming border. She spent her retirement traveling with her life partner Phil Baum.
Kay was a member of MENSA and her local Moose Lodge.
Survivors include: a son, Kelly Hunt (Opal) of Cheyenne, WY; a daughter, Larra Ray (Larry) of Lyman, SC; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her partner in life, Phillip Baum of Yuma, AZ; and a brother, Harold Dean Moore.
