Not sure exactly when this was announced, but it looks like it was last week.

The Nebraska Six-Man Coaches Association (SMCA) announced that they are teaming with six-man members of the Wyoming Coaches Association to create the 6-Man Shootout all-star football game.

The game will pitt the best graduating six-man seniors from Nebraska against the best graduating seniors from Wyoming. Rosters will feature the top 18 players from each state. The inaugural game will be played at 4 p.m. on June 30, 2012 in Arthur, Neb.

Future games will then rotate between states on a yearly basis, with the 2013 game in Wyoming.

Interesting to see how this fits in with the other all-star events during the summer. The Shrine Bowl -- both teams are required to have at least one six-man representative -- is set for June 9, 2012.

The Wyoming-South Dakota hoops series appears likely to take place on June 1-2; the Wyoming-Montana series appears likely to take place on June 8-9. The WCA all-star week is typically the last week in July (not sure if it will be the week of July 16 or July 23).

But good exposure for six-man kids and the game.
