Editor:
I'm still lookin' for an answer: is it possible that the earth is warming up?
I have asked this question of universities, the weather station, members of Congress and all I find out it that there are only a few monitors of earth temperature (two in the U. S. mainland, one in Alaska, none in the Arctic, one in Canada an' I don't know about any other place).
The Sept. 11 CS-T article about the glacier speed changing has a picture of the glacier.
Back in the late 1950s I monitored glaciers in the Big Horns an' it was determined the earth temperature has risen 1-plus degree, which caused a melting of the glaciers. It was also determined that when a glacier melts from the top it is smooth an' from underneath, the top is rough: look at the picture!
I realize that if this is found to be true that those getting rich by "cryin' wolf" (Al Gore) would suddenly be without a cause! While people may add to the CO2 with the use of fossil fuels, etc., an' the burning of the forests instead of harvesting an' planting new, more productive young trees to convert CO2 to oxygen, we could be misinformed!
Science has long believed that the earth goes through temperature changes in regular cycles but no one has yet answered my question: is that occurring now?
Some scientists say a one-degree-plus change in earth temperature would create a big change worldwide!
Not bein' a rocket scientist, this ole cowboy is just wonderin'!
