I travel daily on Casper Mountain Road to work each day. I drive from the intersection of Outer Drive and Casper Mountain Road traveling north. I am appalled at the needless deaths of antelope on Casper Mountain Road. The speed limit is 50 mph and then decreases to 40 mph and then again to 30 mph by Casper College. There are many vehicles that do not adhere to these limits and run over antelope because of the excessive speed. These dead antelope are found close to the college, where the speed limit has already changed to 30 mph. Also, they are found by Outer Drive where the speed limit changes to 40 mph.

If drivers can't slow down and pay attention to the antelope, maybe they should walk on the side of the road and see what it feels like to have a vehicle speed by them. If you're running late to work, get up earlier and leave earlier; drive the speed limit! The antelope suffer because of drivers' stupidity. These deaths are preventable.

Come on Casper, slow down, be responsible, and think of others besides yourself. We are fortunate to have such beautiful animals in Wyoming, so protect them.

HOLLY GILBERT, Casper
