The Wyoming legislative committee reached a logical conclusion in rejecting Sen. John Schiffer's wind tax proposals.

This fragile alternative energy sector needs to be encouraged to continue investing in Wyoming's future. They are already under assault from sage grouse advocates and a small segment of large wealthy landowners complaining about "view-shed degradation." The fledgling industry is scheduled to contribute tens of millions of dollars statewide via current property taxes and future sales taxes.

Remember, all taxes and all government-mandated costs are ultimately paid for by citizens, not corporations! Taxing the wind will simply result in higher consumer electricity costs. Citizens in the Kaycee area need to reconsider voting again for Mr Schiffer simply because of name recognition -- Mr. Schiffer apparently does not understand how business functions.
