A new issue in football has arisen across the United States and even in the small state of Wyoming: concussions causing long-term damage.

I am a football player from Buffalo High School, and even with new technology bringing concussion-proof helmets, concussions still occur. Few things have been done about this. Kids continue to get concussions, and are forced to quit doing any sports, and even pro players that had concussions when they once played have long-term damage from concussions in football.

Nearly six times as many as the average, NFL football players acquire Alzheimer’s disease from concussions. And still nothing is being done. But in my opinion, nothing being done is a reasonable thing to do. The athlete should know that the game of football is a contact sport, can give all types of injuries, including concussions. The athlete knows the danger when signing up for football.
