SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - Ground has been broken on a $4.9 million project to remodel and expand the emergency department at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
"This is a project that, thankfully, finally and at long last, is underway," said hospital board of trustees Chairwoman Evelyn Ebzery during a a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday.
The project is expected to take about year and will be the first major improvement to the emergency department since the 1970s. During construction, the emergency department has been moved to temporary quarters in the hospital's west wing.
