Woman victim of hotel robbery
MIAMI - Police say two tourists, including a Jackson woman, were tied up and robbed in their hotel room in a Miami suburb.
Police say 53-year-old Patricia Gerondakis of Jackson and 58-year-old Randall Carlson of Fairbanks, Alaska, were tricked into thinking the thieves were hotel security at the Best Western hotel in Cutler Bay, Fla.
Authorities say the tourists weren't injured.
Police say that as the pair was looking for their hotel on Wednesday, they met a man who offered to help. They let him inside the car and he directed them to the hotel.
Authorities say he returned with two others and claimed to be hotel security. The three men forced their way inside, tied them up and robbed them.
Police later put one man in custody, but they couldn't confirm it was a robber.
FDA warns drug manufacturer
CODY - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned a Cody drug manufacturer to quit making unapproved prescription narcotics.
The warning went out Tuesday to Cody Laboratories and its Philadelphia-based parent company, Lannett Co., and was among FDA warnings to nine companies to stop making 14 unapproved drugs.
Lannett said in a statement that it would continue to manufacture and market its morphine products while working with the FDA to address the matter. CEO Arthur Bedrosian said some morphine-based products like Lannett's have been safely prescribed in the U.S. for more than 100 years.
FDA officials say companies can't be allowed to skirt federal approval by claiming they have a long history of safely marketing a drug.

Charity: Demand for food increases
JACKSON - A charity in Jackson is seeing a sharp increase in the demand for food from needy people there.
Evan Molyneaux is a board member with the Jackson Food Cupboard, a charity food service.
Molyneaux said the use of the food service is now four times what it was at this time last year.
The service would normally see about 25 people a day come in for food this time of year. But Molyneaux said there are days now when more than 100 people come in.
People often arrive an hour and a half early on days when the Jackson Food Cupboard has vouchers available for products such as milk, eggs and cheese.
