ROCK SPRINGS -- A district court judge says an anesthesiologist was wrongly suspended by Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County and the suspension was based on inaccurate information.
Dr. Edmund Boese was suspended from the hospital on Dec. 12, 2006 after reviews of anesthesia records suggested more than 1,400 micrograms of fentanyl were unaccounted for during a five-month period. A consultant hired by the hospital to review the records later ultimately said the missing amount was instead just over 400 micrograms.
Boese contested his suspension, saying that the discrepancy could have been from broken drug containers, incorrect amounts being dispensed or a nurse's error.
District Judge Nena James agreed.
Hospital Board Chairman Russell Kirlin declined to comment on the case. Boese could not be immediately reached for comment.
