It's not so much that I like any one season better than another. I think that what I really enjoy is the shift between them; the explosion of greenery in the spring time, the welcome warmth in the June, the way autumn smells and how clean the air gets after the first few frosts. As Wyoming transitions into autumn next week, I have enjoyed helping people adapt to our new online format.

And, after a brief departure following the site redesign launch, the online crossword puzzle is back, I'm happy to say. In fact, we now have two crosswords online every day. Keep an eye open for more crosswords and other games to come.

Here's the news around TribTown:

I want to direct your attention to something important, orange and fuzzy. And lost, I'm afraid. Here's what happened: TribTowner "Fxgal" lost her 14-month-old Norwegian Forest Cat, tan and orange with striped fur. He's got green eyes, a white face, chest, belly, feet and tail tip. He was lost the afternoon of Sept. 12 in the Hobby Lobby parking lot in Casper. The cat's name is Beowulf. There is a reward for any information: 1-888-669-8944 or 307-276-7724.

Good luck to Fxgal and Beowulf! I'm really hoping someone has seen him. I would be a wreck if anything happened to my rat terrier Gracie.

Tribtowner Brandi McCloud has something to show off: "What an incredible hunting season so far."

"I was lucky enough, to once again this year, draw out for an Antelope," she writes. "My husband Matt, my brother-in-law, father-in-law and I all drew out for an Antelope Party hunt. My job every year is to try to out shoot them all. This of course, has never been possible, but I try to do my best.

"They have all hunted their entire lives, as for me, I've only been doing this for 6 years ... Last Friday, I finally beat the boys! Not only did I shoot an awesome Antelope, I scored big. My antelope scored just under 85. And I now have the glory and bragging rights to say "My Antelope made it in Boone & Crockett."

Tribtowner MSmith called Casperites to action this week in his blog on proposed enhancements at Summit Elementary School, which is being constructed, and the Natrona County School District Board:

"Most people I have talked to about this issue believe that NCSD could make better use of nearly a half million dollars in several areas that seem to be a more critical at this time. Possibly to continue band & orchestra in the elementary level? ... In addition to the economics of the issue - which is the most obvious concern at this time - these building enhancements fail to meet any of the 5 criteria outlined in the District Strategic Plan. An expenditure of this size should be within the guidelines of this plan which is to improve student academic achievement district wide."
