CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The state Legislature's decision not to help pay for proposed new buildings at Laramie County Community College has leaders at the college considering what to do next.
The LCCC board of trustees was scheduled to discuss the buildings during its Wednesday meeting. No decisions are expected.
The board expects to officially decide in August whether to ask voters in Laramie County to support construction through a property tax.
A top priority at the college is to build a new health sciences building and improve utilities to handle future construction.
The health sciences building would cost about $12 million.
The Legislature turned down most of an overall $47 million building request from the state's community colleges. LCCC asked for $26 million to help pay for a new science building, a new fine and performing arts center, and renovations.
