ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) - A construction worker run over by a forklift last week has died from his injuries.
Howard Lee Sikes, 59, died at a Salt Lake City hospital over the weekend, officials said. He was foreman of the Texas-based Sikes and Sons construction company.
According to police, Sikes was installing masonry at an Applebee's restaurant April 23 when he was run over by a 2,400-pound forklift.
The forklift was backing up. It was not immediately clear why Sikes did not hear its backing siren, police Sgt. Clark Robinson said.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was investigating.
