SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police on Tuesday arrested a Wyoming man on charges of murder and attempted murder in connection with a shooting that killed one man and critically wounded another at a party last month, authorities said.
Tyson Yellowbear, 21 of Riverton, Wyo., was arrested at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday on top of a two-story building near Salt Lake City, police said.
Yellowbear was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on charges of first-degree felony murder and two counts of attempted murder. Bail was set at $1 million.
Yellowbear is accused of fatally shooting Danny Tapuaialupe, 23, and wounding Pesio Vaeluaga, 32, on March 25.
Police in Yellowbear's home area of Riverton had been on high alert since Yellowbear fled the scene of a shooting.
Yellowbear is the cousin of Andrew Yellowbear Jr. who was sentenced to life in prison in Wyoming last week for killing his 22-month old daughter. Police do not believe the two incidents are connected.
